McCain in S.D., gets mayor's support
Arizona senator and Republican presidential hopeful John McCain stumped in San Diego yesterday, supporting combat in Iraq and against climate change, displaying a political dexterity he hopes will appeal broadly.
McCain, who appeared with Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in Los Angeles Wednesday, has yet to formally announce his candidacy but yesterday he accepted an endorsement from Mayor Jerry Sanders and said “We'll be announcing very soon.”
