POLL SHOWS SCHWARZENEGGER WITH 17-POINT LEAD
Arnold with a comfortable lead over Angelides among likely voters

(AP) SACRAMENTO, Calif. Two new polls show Democratic gubernatorial candidate Phil Angelides is still having trouble connecting with
members of his own party.

According to a Public Policy Institute of California poll, 82 percent of Republicans back their candidate, Governor
Schwarzenegger. But just 57 percent of Democrats said they'd vote for Angelides. A Field Poll says Angelides has the support of 61 percent of Democrats.

Schwarzenegger has a 17-point lead among likely voters, 48 percent to 31 percent, in the Public Policy Institute's poll. A
Field Poll gives Schwarzenegger a ten-point lead with likely voters.

Both polls showed at least 15 percent of Democrats are still undecided in the governor's race.
