PHIL THALHEIMER HONORED WITH SPECIAL AWARD FROM DISTRICT ATTORNEY DUMANIS
Phil Thalheimer recieves special award at the Citizens for Courage Annual Luncheon from District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis

Distict Attorney Bonnie Dumanis today presented City Council District One candidate Phil Thalheimer with a special award at the 19th Annual Citizens for Courage Luncheon. The businessman and civic leader was honored for his leadership on Southern Californians for Jessica's Law, the toughest anti-sexual predator law in the nation.
"Phil deserves this recognition for his commitment to public safety and his extraordinary efforts in getting Jessica's Law passed in California," said San Diego District Attorney Dumanis.
Thalheimer owns and operates San Diego Flight Training International - the largest such school in San Diego County.
Thalheimer also spearheaded the movement to save the Mt. Soledad Veterans memorial, which resulted in federal legislation that turned over the memorial land to the federal government for permanent preservation.
"I consider it an honor to have received this special award from District Attorney Dumanis. More importantly, I consider it an honor to have worked on such an important measure that will protect California's children," said Thalheimer. "Solving our city's financial crisis to make certain we can provide fire and police protection to San Diego's citizens is precisely why I am running for City Council. I fully intend to work alongside the District Attorney to fight for the full implementation of Jessica's Law and other tough anti-crime legislation to keep our schools, parks, and neighborhoods safe for our children."
The San Diego City Council District One seat will be open in the 2008 election due to term limits. The district includes the communities of Carmel Valley, La Jolla, Rancho Penasquitos, Torrey Pines, Torrey Highlands, Del Mar Mesa, Torrey Hills, and University City.
